The Beach Escape

This week, I had the opportunity to go to the coast, be alone, walk around, and think about  the eternal questions:) But it was so beautiful there that I did not want to think about anything, only enjoy the present. The ocean coast is great. The water is already warm. Not, of course, how it is going to be in the summer, but I swam with pleasure. Pelicans, shells, small fish in the waves, and a wonderful peaceful feeling 🙂

My trip with my son Ivan to Ukraine. July 2011

Today I want to show some pictures from the Ukrainian town of Kamianets-Podilskyi.  My parents and grandparents were born here.
I love this place a lot, and this summer I had a short trip with my son to Ukraine to visit my grandmother, who still lives there.

There is a legend about the castle:

A deer running from some wealthy hunters brought them to a peninsula with a beautiful landscape.  They then decided to   build a castle there.

The deer later became a symbol of the city 🙂

Welcome!

Hello everyone!

I am starting a new blog here 🙂 I’m planning to show a lot of pictures about me, my family and about our travel vacations.

So, my name is Kate, or Katya in Russian. I am married, my husband’s name is Peter, and we have 2 lovely children. One is a 12 year old boy, named Ivan, and a 6 year girl, named Nadia. Originally we are from Russia, Moscow, but 8 years ago we moved to the U.S.A. We lived in the states of Washington and California, and also spent one year in London, U.K. and now we are in the state of North Carolina!

Well, I think there is enough information for my first post 🙂
